BLS Instructor Course - Email to Destiny

I hope you're doing well.

For context: the owner established several years ago that all prerequisites must be completed and submitted ahead of time. This policy came about because I used to travel long distances to teach, and students would arrive without having finished the required work. That left them unprepared for the training and made it impossible for me to complete their certification during that visit. I don't travel much anymore due to health reasons and dietary restrictions, but the policy remains in place for the same reason: it protects your time and mine.

That said, I worked out an accommodation with the owner, and he approved it. The details are below.

Everything you need is below, organized into numbered steps. Please read the entire email, including the checklist at the end.

SCHEDULE

BLS Instructor Course and Level 2 Training
Monday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Your instructor monitoring session begins at 2:00 PM.

STEP 1 — MAKE THE PAYMENT TODAY BEFORE 5:00 PM

Do this first to secure your discounted rate.

  3. The price shown already includes your $195.00 discount. You do not need to enter a code.
  4. Complete the payment before 5:00 PM TODAY.
WARNING: The owner asked me to make sure you know that the $195.00 discount expires TODAY at 5:00 PM. If payment is not completed by 5:00 PM today, the discount will no longer be available and the full price will apply.

STEP 2 — COMPLETE THE BLS PROVIDER COURSE

You must hold a current BLS Provider card before you can take the Instructor Course. Once I have a copy of it, we can move straight into the Instructor Course with no delays.

  1. Go to: HeartCode® BLS Online
  2. Complete the online portion.
  3. Complete the hands-on skills check.
  4. Receive your BLS Provider card.
  5. Send me a copy of that card.

Deadline: Friday, July 24, 2026, by 5:00 PM.

STEP 3 — COMPLETE BLS INSTRUCTOR ESSENTIALS ONLINE & CORE

  1. Go to: BLS Instructor Essentials Online & Core
  2. Complete BOTH parts — the Online portion AND the Core portion. These are two separate pieces, and both are required.
  3. Send me a copy of the completion certificate.

Deadline: Friday, July 24, 2026, by 5:00 PM.

STEP 4 — PREPARE THE STUDENTS YOU WILL TEACH MONDAY AT 2:00 PM

For your instructor monitoring, you have to teach a real class. Every person in that class must be prepared ahead of time. Each student needs the following:

  1. Complete the BLS Provider Course. You or Heather can teach this course for them.
  2. Complete BLS Instructor Essentials Online & Core
  3. Send me a copy of each student's BLS Provider card.
WARNING — THIS IS IMPORTANT: The card must be a BLS Provider card. A Heartsaver card will NOT be accepted. Heartsaver and BLS are different courses with different rules, regulations, and guidelines. Each student needs to attend the correct training so that they are properly prepared.

If a student already has a Heartsaver card instead of a BLS Provider card, do this:

  1. Teach that student the BLS Provider course.
  2. Send me their new BLS Provider card.
  3. Have them complete BLS Instructor Essentials Online & Core

Deadline: Friday, July 24, 2026, by 5:00 PM.

STEP 5 — CALL ME TODAY BEFORE 4:00 PM

Communication is very important here. Since I'll be unavailable tomorrow, today is your window to ask questions.

  1. Call me today before 4:00 PM with any questions about any of the steps above.
  2. This call is required in order for the Friday extension to apply.
